The poem "Achille's Heart" is one that I wrote in 2018. I can send you the whole poem if you're interested. This artist book only includes the last stanza.
The quiet is deafening once the battle adjourned.
My flesh, body and I await his return.
Tired with his chase round the Trojan wall;
It is in tall sea grass, to sleep he will likely fall.
I visit him then, cloud across the moon
Into dreaming fields, the warm cocoon.
There is no need of voice, I will hold the farewell,
To visit my love, asleep on ground swell.
In his slumber deep, I ask for peace tender care,
There I remind him, I wander through air.
Let my pale corpse, the rites of burial know,
And give me entrance to the realms below.
Give me over to fate and love we shall twine,
Ah! So soon shall my bones rest with thine.
