Printmaking emphasizes a history through a process defined by the texture and line. In my work, I am utilizing this process to tell stories with characters and structured environments. I consider the relationship between nature and humanity and how a species will bear the burden of an overwhelming populace. In my prints, my characters become a vessel for human industry, narrated by generation after generation. I construct histories using traces of human existence and create cities that mimic our changing landscape. Printmaking clarifies said history with a process that allows an evolution exposed through each layer and imperfection. I am interested in created layered prints, where a chronological timeline allows a viewer to look through the lines and values.
